Drum Pumps

Drum pumps are portable pumps made up of an immersion tube and a top-mounted motor unit, designed to empty liquids from drums, jerry cans or IBC tanks. They are supplied with electric, pneumatic (ATEX) or stainless-casing options for the safe and fast emptying of chemicals, oils and food products.

Drum Pumps

Why it matters

What is a drum pump used for?

It empties liquids from drums, jerry cans and IBC tanks quickly, safely and portably.

Empties drums, jerry cans and IBC tanks fast

The immersion tube reaches down to the bottom of the tank, emptying most of the liquid without the need for manual handling or tipping.

Portable, usable across different drums

The same motor unit can be used with multiple drum/tank types via immersion tubes of different diameters and depths.

ATEX-certified pneumatic drive option

Operates safely in facilities classified as explosive atmospheres, thanks to a pneumatic motor drive that carries no spark risk.

Immersion tube material matched to the chemical

With PP, PVDF or stainless immersion tube options, it provides broad fluid compatibility from acids to food products.

Types

Sub-types of the drum pump

All three work with an immersion tube; they differ in drive mechanism and casing material.

GENERAL USE

Electric drum pump

Runs on the standard electricity grid; an economical and widely used solution for general-purpose drum and jerry can emptying.

  • Economical solution
  • Easy installation
  • General chemical/oil applications
ATEX/EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE

Pneumatic drum pump

Runs on compressed air; used in facilities classified as explosive atmospheres because it carries no spark risk.

  • ATEX-certified
  • No spark risk
  • Solvent/paint applications
FOOD/HIGH TEMPERATURE

Stainless drum pump

With a stainless immersion tube and casing, suited to emptying food products and high-temperature liquids.

  • Stainless casing
  • Suited to food products
  • High temperature resistance

Selection criteria

What data determines the right drum pump?

Selection cannot be made without the first two items. The rest determine the material and drive type.

ParameterWhy it mattersWhat we need from you

Chemical compatibility of the fluid

Determines the immersion tube and casing material.

FAQ

Questions from the field

The questions we encounter most often during the drum pump quotation stage.

Which chemicals is it compatible with?

It depends on the immersion tube material; PP and PVDF suit a wide acid/base range, while stainless steel is preferred for high temperatures and food products.

Can it be used with viscous products?

Yes, with motor power and immersion tube diameter selected according to viscosity, products up to honey-like consistency can be emptied.

Is ATEX-certified pneumatic drive required?

Yes, in facilities classified as explosive atmospheres, such as for solvents or paint; standard electric drive is sufficient for general chemical and food applications.

How is cleaning and maintenance carried out?

The immersion tube can be removed and cleaned; when switching products, cleaning or replacing the tube is recommended to prevent cross-contamination.

Do you only serve Istanbul?

No. While our office is on Istanbul's Anatolian side (Ataşehir), we supply and ship across Istanbul's European side, the surrounding provinces and the Marmara region, and Turkey as a whole — covering your equipment end to end, from a single source.
