Captures iron-based particulates
Magnetite particulates formed by corrosion and rusting are captured by the magnet even when fine enough to pass through standard filtration.

Magnetic separators capture circulating magnetite and iron-based particulates from system water with a powerful magnet; these particulates are a leading cause of clogging in exchanger plates and pump wear. At Denfor Endüstriyel, we supply magnetic separators with an easy-to-clean cartridge design and a range of connection sizes for heating and cooling circuits.

Why it matters
It captures iron-based particulates that standard dirt separators cannot fully remove, using a magnet.
Magnetite particulates formed by corrosion and rusting are captured by the magnet even when fine enough to pass through standard filtration.
The narrow channels of plate heat exchangers are especially sensitive to magnetic particulates; a magnetic separator significantly reduces this clogging.
The magnet cartridge can be easily removed from the shell and cleaned, making maintenance quick and simple.
Some models are supplied with isolation valves, allowing periodic cleaning without fully draining the system.
Types
All three capture iron-based particulates with a magnet; what differs is shell design and capacity.
With a compact shell mounted directly on the pipeline, the standard solution for residential and small-to-medium commercial installations.
With a larger-volume shell and a powerful magnet array, used on high-flow industrial lines carrying a heavy fouling risk.
Fitted with isolation valves at the inlet/outlet; can be isolated from the line and cleaned without draining the system.
Selection criteria
Selection cannot be made without the first two items. The rest determine shell type and fittings.
Line flow rate
Shell size is determined by the flow rate of the line it is installed on.

Fouling intensity
The risk of iron-based particulates is higher in older or renovated installations.

Need for isolation valves
A valved model is needed if cleaning without interrupting the line is required.

Create a quote requestFAQ
The questions we encounter most often at the magnetic separator quote stage.
Standard dirt separators settle heavy particulates by slowing flow velocity; a magnetic separator instead captures fine, especially iron-based, particulates through magnetic attraction — the two complement each other.
In steel-radiator, older or renovated heating installations, corrosion-driven magnetite build-up is heavier, so a magnetic separator is especially recommended on these projects.
The magnetic cartridge is removed from the shell and the particulate mass on it is cleaned off; on models with isolation valves, this can be done without draining the system.
Some heat exchanger manufacturers may require a magnetic/dirt separator in the installation as a warranty condition; it is advisable to check this requirement before starting the project.
