Calorifiers (Single / Double Coil)

Coil calorifiers use hot water from a boiler or solar circuit, passed through an internal coil, to heat domestic water. Double-coil models allow two different heat sources (for example, a boiler and solar energy) to be connected to the same tank; we supply them with an insulated shell and a choice of enamel or stainless steel lining.

Why it matters

What does a coil calorifier do?

It is the single connection point between the heat source and domestic water; it covers instantaneous consumption peaks.

Covers instantaneous consumption peaks

The hot water accumulated inside the calorifier covers the load drawn by several taps or showers at once, independent of the heat source's instantaneous capacity.

A double coil combines two heat sources

A boiler and a solar circuit, for example, can be connected to the same tank; solar energy runs with priority while the boiler steps in as a backup source.

Prevents the boiler from constantly cycling on and off

Without a calorifier, the boiler would start and stop every time a tap is opened; this both lowers efficiency and shortens its service life.

Long service life with an enamel or stainless steel lining

The interior lining protects domestic water against scale and corrosion; anode protection extends the service life further.

Types

Sub-types of calorifiers

All three transfer hot water from the heat source to domestic water through a coil; what sets them apart is the number of coils and capacity.

MOST COMMON

Single-coil calorifier

Fed by a single heat source (usually a boiler); the standard solution for residential and small-to-medium commercial installations.

  • Single heat source
  • Economical solution
  • Residential/commercial use
TWO SOURCES

Double-coil calorifier

Combines two different heat sources (e.g. boiler + solar energy) in the same tank; the renewable source is prioritized while the boiler works as backup.

  • Two heat source connections
  • Solar-compatible
  • Energy savings
LARGE VOLUME

Multi-source / large-volume calorifier

Custom-built calorifiers with large volume and a reinforced coil surface, meeting the needs of multiple heat sources or high-capacity installations.

  • High volume capacity
  • Custom-build options
  • Suited to industrial installations

Selection criteria

What data determines the right calorifier?

Selection cannot be made without the first two items. The rest determine the number of coils and the lining material.

ParameterWhy it mattersWhat we need from you

Volume

Calculated from the number of simultaneous users and consumption habits.

L

Number of heat sources

Whether a single source (boiler) or two different sources (boiler + solar energy) will feed it.

1 / 2 sources

Coil surface area

Determined by the heat source's output and the desired heat-up time.

m²

Lining material

Enamel or stainless steel is chosen based on water hardness and usage intensity.

Operating pressure

Must match the mains or booster-pump supply pressure.

bar

Connection size and installation location

Inlet/outlet and coil connection sizes, and the boiler room layout.

It's fine if you don't have all of it. We'll fill in the gaps together with you.

Create a quote request
  • Number of simultaneous users, or the volume you need
  • Whether a single or double coil is wanted
  • Heat source(s) (boiler, solar energy, etc.)
  • Water hardness (for the enamel/stainless steel choice)
  • Operating pressure
  • The existing calorifier's nameplate data (if replacing one)

FAQ

Questions from the field

The questions we hear most often when quoting calorifiers.

Should I choose a single or double coil?

If you have a single heat source (for example, just a boiler), a single coil is enough. If you will also bring in a second source such as solar energy, a double-coil calorifier combines both sources in the same tank.

Should I choose enamel or stainless steel?

If water hardness is low and budget is the priority, an enamel lining is enough. If water hardness is high, usage is intensive, or a hygiene standard is required (hotels, hospitals), a stainless steel lining gives a longer service life.

How is calorifier volume determined?

It is calculated from the number of simultaneous users, the number of showers/taps and consumption habits; too little volume causes hot water interruptions, while too much causes needless heat loss.

What is anode protection, and is it necessary?

In enamel-lined calorifiers, a magnesium anode protects the tank cathodically against corrosion; periodic inspection and replacement when needed extends the calorifier's service life.

Do you only serve Istanbul?

No. While our office is on Istanbul's Anatolian side (Ataşehir), we supply and ship across Istanbul's European side, the surrounding provinces and the Marmara region, and Turkey as a whole — covering your equipment end to end, from a single source.
